TRIO BATTLE
THREE BLIND MICE VS GUILLAUME NOUAUX TRIO

friday, april 8th

The musicians composing the THREE BLIND MICE and the GUILLAUME NOUAUX TRIO regularly have the opportunity to be on stage together in different formations.
Besides the fact that they know each other well and that they are above all friends, these two trios have many points in common.

They each interpret in their own way a contemporary and refreshing vision of traditional jazz and furrow the classical jazz scenes of France and Europe for many years to the delight of fans.
The idea of presenting a concert in the form of a “TRIO BATTLE” came from the observation that the two formations have almost everything in common, except the instrumentation. As a result, the two trios have a radically different musical colour to play the same music.

After each of the two trios have expressed themselves separately, the two formations will come together to form a furious sextet.
A finale in apotheosis for this evening full of surprises!

Three Blind Mice

Felix Hunot (guitar, vocals), Sebastien Girardot (double bass) & Malo Mazurié (trumpet)

Double Bass, Guitar, Trumpet is the configuration of this orchestra where the energy and science of each is put at the service of a dynamic and demanding music, with a decidedly acoustic flavour..

Generous accompanists and unparalleled soloists, these musicians illustrate themselves in a fresh and energetic style, nourished by a contagious complicity and a sharp sense of challenge.
These virtuosos then apply to highlight the contours, peculiarities and rhythms that give this 1920’s / 1930’s jazz repertoire all its originality and magic.

Guillaume Nouaux Trio

Jérôme Gatius (clarinet), Alain Barrabes (piano) & Guillaume Nouaux (drums)

Guillaume Nouaux is not at his first attempt in this nowadays little used form of the trio clarinet-piano-drums.
Together with his trio, they always play with an obvious pleasure a repertoire rooted in the tradition of jazz, where ragtime, blues tunes are mixed , swing and popular tunes of New Orleans.

Accustomed to travel the great scenes of Europe and always critically acclaimed, Guillaume will also make us discover his brand new album “Guillaume Nouaux & The Clarinet Kings”.
