The (free !) Expo not to be missed this summer!

From July 1st to October 1st, 2018, the National Domain of Saint-Germain-en-Laye receives the exhibition “Jardin de Mémoires: the Art of Sharing” and you absolutely must have a look !

After The new French follies on the occasion of the “Year of the Year” in 2013, after the festival of the twelve winds of the Japanese artist, Toshiaki Tsukui in 2016, the National Domain opens again to contemporary creation.

On the initiative of the Arts Convergences association, which organizes various actions for people suffering from mental illnesses, Éric Le Maire, Charles-Édouard de Surville, Carole Baudon and Vanessa de Ternay with groups of patients, carers and caregivers. artists from Versailles, Trappes, Rambouillet and Saint-Germain-en-Laye propose a sensory walk in the National Domain.

In situ creations, works awakening the senses (rustling of the wind, flapping of wings, timbre of a voice) interact with the alignments and the perspectives given by the gardens and make this remarkable landscape space a melting pot of memories, a experimental dialogue between the seen and the lived, between the real and the imaginary, between the collective heritage and the individual experience.

This approach, led by the teams in charge of exhibitions, gardens and the public, reflects the institution’s commitment to ensuring that people with and without disabilities have access to artistic creation and heritage.
A memorial garden at the service of a certain idea of sharing access to culture, including the upcoming European Heritage Days (15 and 16 September 2018) will be echoed.

This exhibition, under the patronage of Sophie Cluzel, Secretary of State to the Prime Minister for Persons with Disabilities, has received the support of the DRAC Île-de-France and the ARS Île-de-France as part of the Culture & Health program and that of the Academy of Fine Arts.

The National Estate of Saint-Germain-en-Laye is open every day from 8h to 20h30 in July and August and from 8h to 19h30 in September. Free entry !
